*Brainspirations is a series Jason created while going through treatment. We thought it would be best to share here, and we hope it helps.
Hope this finds who needs to see it! ❤️
Hi everyone! Today has been a whirlwind of emotions, but all is well.
Here’s the scoop: High-grade glioma. Resist the urge to Google it, though I know the curiosity might grip you. Just remember, the internet can cast a terrifying lens on medical conditions!
The doc is awaiting a few test results to pinpoint the exact type and grade—this will tailor the precise treatment to ensure it doesn’t stage a comeback.
It seems I'll embark on treatment in a fortnight (6 weeks of chemo and radiation). I anticipate the thrice-weekly radiation and daily chemo might be a grind, but I’m geared up.
The doctor nudged me to focus on some silver linings, and I’m all in: I’m young, fit, sailed through surgery without a hitch, and the troublemaker is ousted from my head!
The treatment trail is standard fare, nothing out of the ordinary. He harked back to bygone days when excision sans follow-up treatment often saw the menace returning. This phase is more about fortification rather than “curing” in my lexicon. I’m poised to triumph and kick this menace to the curb!
Now, onto today’s nugget of wisdom: How often do we build mountains out of molehills? Perhaps, to draft a winning strategy, we ought to stop kicking off from a deficit?
What's a small victory you could notch up today? You don’t have to shift a mountain to feel a seismic achievement!
For me, it was about confronting fear, feeling its icy grip, yet recognizing its fleeting nature, to be eventually supplanted by valor and an indomitable will to prevail. I’m not about to forfeit this game of life, and while I foresee some dreary days...isn’t that the essence of life?!
I sense my narrative is only unfurling. Preceding this tumult, I had news to share. Those announcements are still on the horizon! Eager to traverse this path alongside you all.
I trust you’ll derive some utility from this...it’s been a beacon for me.
Much gratitude for the ceaseless stream of good vibes! We got this!
Much ❤️
