Imagine, if our lives were scripted like a blockbuster movie. Every character seems impeccably cast, playing the hero or the villain in the narrative we're weaving.
But what about us?
What if we end up being cast as the antagonist or even worse, a mere extra in our own story? Despite the hard work, the screen time is negligible, the credit roll, invisible. Not the scenario you’d envision if you’re yearning to be the protagonist of your tale.
This thought trail leads me to a compelling proposition: if a character can be sculpted for a reel, why can't we mold the persona we’ve always yearned to embody in real?
Certainly, we can! However, the plot twist here is monumental. It demands a clean slate, a willingness to unlearn, to venture into the unknown, and to embrace oneself with a fierce love even when the script gets tough.
This might sound like a daunting premiere. Yet, what if there's a guaranteed box office hit waiting? If the current script remains unchanged, the scenes are bound to replay. Great if the story resonates, but what if it doesn't? Isn’t now a prime time for a character arc, to shed the scripted you and embrace the authentic you? What if the role you're playing is a relic of past trauma?
On to becoming super!
Superheroes often have their genesis in trauma, which morphs into their superpower. Does overcoming a traumatic plot twist bestow us with superpowers too? The narrative arc doesn’t circumvent the trauma but channels it into a force for good.
