Chasing Dreams Amidst Life's Storms: A Reflection on Journey and Growth

🧠 Quick update: I’m feeling really good! Today marks one full week of chemo & radiation, with five more to go! I feel strong. I’m healing. I’m grateful!

What am I learning?

On January 1, 2007, I officially commenced chasing my dreams, not someone else’s. I had just bid adieu to the corporate world where I made good money, to make zero. The first step? Load up all my hopes and dreams and set sail, eyeing all my entrepreneurial goals. I was optimistic about landing on ‘I Made It Island’ and believed that scaling up Goal Mountain would be a breeze. Well, that was the plan at least.

Unveiling the entire tale could fill the pages of a book rather than a post. Let’s just say, reality dawned soon, achieving my goals wasn’t a cakewalk as it appeared for others. ❤️ Power-up!

Here’s the scoop…

Witnessing our heroes ace their dreams can create a mirage, or is it a delusion? Their journey seems effortless, so ours should be too, right? However, we’re oblivious to the zig-zags of their journey. Michael Jordan, for instance, made basketball look like child’s play. A pair of Air Jordans, a ball, and some Wheaties, and voila, I’d be the next MJ, right? Yet, delve into ‘Relentless’ by Tim Grover, and you’ll discover MJ’s path was anything but easy.

Every stride, forward or backward, counts in the quest for your dreams. It’s the steps you hesitate to take that could dismantle your dream castle! ❤️ Power-up!

In my scenario, my journey resembles more of a scribble than a roadmap. I’ve stumbled, made poor choices, doubted myself, succumbed to others’ opinions, and faced exploitation, to name a few.

It’s during the rough patches where you’re honed. Those moments of underestimation will be your reflection points, unveiling self-insights. ❤️ Power-up!

Ultimately, isn’t the essence of life to contribute, even minutely, to bettering the world? ❤️ Power-up!

The gist? Keep forging ahead! Failures are but detours, not dead-ends. They merely hint at a plethora of other avenues. Your dreams are awaiting your strides towards them. Mere wishing won’t cut it.
