What pearls have I gathered?
How often have we allowed others' verdicts on our capabilities to set the bar for our ambitions? A common pitfall, and I confess, I've been there too.
The sting is sharper when the discouragement flows from the ones we hold in high regard - a teacher, boss, mentor, or a spiritual guide. Their words weigh heavy as we perceive them to be maestros of life.
But here’s the truth: they sail in the same turbulent waters of life as we do, possibly having anchored their dreams prematurely.
Fear relishes in amplifying these 'advisories', seasoning our self-narrative with a generous dash of drama. The antidote? Self-love, and heaps of it.
Cast your thoughts back, and you may recall an instance when someone pulled the rug from under your feet, trampled your dreams, or tagged you as undeserving. Remember, this doesn’t testify your worth. It’s a shared human experience, and yes, you’re not alone in this. A celebratory moment for shared resilience!
Let’s not let these instances morph into roadblocks.
The quest for others’ validation often is a plea for an easy exit, a confirmation of our self-doubts. It’s time to erase this old tape and record a new, empowering narrative.
