Opening Reflection: Redefining Greatness
When you hear the word “greatness,” what comes to mind? Is it a big, world-changing accomplishment? Something so impressive it leaves everyone in awe? It’s easy to think greatness has to blow minds—ours and everyone else’s. But the truth? That mindset often leaves us feeling like we’ve fallen short.

The Heart of the Matter: Greatness Starts Within
I’ve spent countless hours reflecting on how often I held myself back because I believed greatness was out of reach. I’d tell myself, “If I could just do this one thing, everything would fall into place.” But when things didn’t work out the way I hoped, I’d spiral. The self-shaming would kick in, pulling me deeper into a funk. Looking back, I wish I could go back and tell myself: greatness isn’t some far-off destination or fancy title. It’s not about what someone else thinks of you. Greatness is a feeling—a spark born in your imagination and brought to life by you.
Our time here is too short to waste chasing someone else’s idea of greatness. What if we stopped holding ourselves to impossible standards and allowed ourselves to see the greatness already in us? Today is the perfect day to pause and ask, “Why am I standing in the way of my own potential?”
Permission to Be Great: You Already Have It
Here’s the thing: you don’t need anyone’s permission to be great. Your greatness doesn’t need validation from anyone else to exist—it’s already there.
What feels “great” to you might look “good” to someone else, and that’s okay. What feels “good” to you might feel “great” to someone else. The key is to stop comparing. Instead, focus on showing up as the best version of yourself, on your own terms. Every day is an opportunity to be your version of great.
Maybe today’s greatness is something small—making it to an appointment you’ve been dreading, stepping into the gym even though you tried to talk yourself out of it, or finally wearing that blue shirt you love but have avoided because you’re worried what others might think.
Power-Up: Greatness Lives in Your Everyday
Stop chasing “great” like it’s some unreachable bar. It’s overrated and full of traps. Instead, be good today. Be good enough to show up. Good enough to take one step closer to the person you’re becoming. That greatness you’re looking for? It’s not out there. It’s already in you, alive and thriving in the “good” of your everyday life.
Don’t underestimate the power of being good while reaching for something bigger. Take a moment to sit with yourself. Get to know the person you spend every moment with. Love them. Listen to them. The answers you’ve been searching for? They’ve been inside you all along.
I hope this helps.
💙Power-Up.
