*Brainspirations is a series Jason created while going through treatment. We thought it would be best to share here, and we hope it helps.
Hope this finds who needs to see it! ❤️
I've always considered my emotional awareness as one of my superpowers. It's been both a blessing and a curse during this journey.
There's this misplaced notion that showing emotions is a sign of weakness, especially for guys. The whole "OMG, what a sissy!" judgement is pure garbage! And by the way, "chick flicks" rock!
Being in tune with your emotions and understanding how they shape your decisions is fundamental in navigating life's highs and lows.
Suppressing your emotions, shelving them for later, or just bulldozing through them only compounds stress. It's a ticking time bomb because, let's face it, there's a limit to how much we can bottle up before the lid blows off!
The past three weeks had me buckled up on the "Emotion Coaster 5000," and I chose to ride through every heart-pounding drop and exhilarating high. It wasn't about marinating in misery; it was about facing reality.
Life will throw curveballs and present awe-inspiring moments. Remember that breathtaking sunset you once witnessed? You felt something profound, didn't you? That's the essence of living in the moment.
Our lives are a tapestry of moments, each threaded with emotions. It's okay to feel them, immerse in them, and wholeheartedly embrace them. Our moments are fleeting, and it would be a sad miss to let an incredible one slip by, all because you were fretting over others' opinions. And honestly, everyone's too wrapped up in their own emotional whirlwinds to fuss over yours.
Recently, the generous help from others has left me grappling with an avalanche of emotions—joy, perhaps shame in needing help, or sheer shock. The exact emotion is elusive, but the overwhelming feeling is real.
My friends initiated a GoFundMe on my behalf, and it feels odd, but that’s okay. I’m embracing this moment for what it is, not for my sake, but for my friends who are pouring their love and concern into this gesture. It's about honoring their feelings and their earnest wish to support my family.
Much love and thank you for the continued good vibes! ❤️
